WMS Access to your Google Earth Enterprise Server
The FBS OpenStream application enables the creation of Open GeoSpatial Consortium Web Mapping
Services (WMS) using published Google Earth Enterprise Map databases as a source of input. This allows
users to view published maps databases in most GIS software packages including ESRI ArcGIS and Autodesk
AutoCAD.
OpenStream requires publishing of 2D maps using Fusion for any data layers that will be requested
from the Earth server.
- First Base Solutions provides a Virtual Machine solution which contains administrative tools to
configure WMS Services, and the OpenStream application
- The Administrative Tools User Manual describes the process to:
- Define WMS service parameters such as supported output coordinate reference systems and service metadata
- Connect and add layers from Google Earth Enterprise Maps database
- Add additional metadata to the GEE layers.
- Create / publish the different WMS services to be accessed by client applications
- Vector layers are displayed using the styles, icons and labels defined in Google Earth Enterprise Fusion Pro,
and are streamed as images from the Google Earth Server.
- Delivers imagery in the coordinate reference
systems that Google Earth Enterprise Fusion provides - World
Geographic WGS 84 or Spherical Mercator. This may cause icons and labels in vector layers to become distorted if
another projection is selected in the client application.
- The GEE WMS map appliance works with GEE V3.2 and up. First Base Solutions, as a Google Earth Enterprise
Partner, will test the appliance with all new releases of GEE, and ensure that the map appliance is compatible
with these new releases. Clients having a valid maintenance and support agreement will be notified of the
availability of new versions, and provided with a download site URL.
